Mr. Gary Ang is Chair and Managing Partner of Herman Capital, Expert Panel Member in Wealth Management Institute and Academic Board Member in Candor International School. He has spent close to 30 years in the financial services industry. He had held various senior country and regional management roles in consumer, private and business banking, wealth management, leasing and commercial finance businesses. He was Asia Pacific head of business, member of banks’ management board, and country business heads with Siemens Financial Services, Australia & New Zealand Bank, Citibank, DBS Bank in different countries and across the region. He has also advised family offices, fund sponsors, investment division of Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOE), and financial institution in Singapore, China and India on private fund formation, private equity strategy, mergers and acquisitions extensively.

Dr. Tan Kim Song is Director of Herman Capital. He also serves on the board of directors of a number of companies in Singapore and Myanmar including Hotel Royal Ltd (SGX:H12), Carlsberg Myanmar, Myanmar Consolidated Media, and acts as advisor to various Myanmar companies including Myanmar Golden Star, Tun Foundation Bank, and the Myanmar Banking Association etc. He was Managing Director at U.S. Fleet Boston Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank and Peregrine Financial, and was primarily in charge of investment banking and fixed income business across emerging markets in Asia. He was one of the founding partner of Frontier Investment and Development Partners LLP, a private equity company that invested in the Mekong region. In his capacity as an advisor/consultant over the years, he had worked with various public sectors and private companies in Singapore and around the region, notably the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Monetary Fund (IMF), People’s Bank of China (PBOC) etc.

Mr. Michael Wei serves as Advisor to Herman Capital in Credit & Risk. He had led a long and illustrious career in China. He was a recipient of the highly coveted Shanghai Golden Financial Industry Foreign Talent Award and the Shanghai Magnolia Memorial Award in 2017 and 2019 respectively for his outstanding contributions as a foreigner. Mr. Wei was a senior executive with China Merchant Bank (CMB) for close to two decades and was an appointed Advisor to VISA and Mastercard China during the period. During his tenure as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, he had promoted and supported CMB’s strategic transformation in Credit and Risk through the use of financial technology in Consumer Banking and Credit Cards. He was responsible for the implementation of artificial intelligence and big data middle-office infrastructure, the digital reconstruction of decision-making system, the creation of real-time online credit approval platform, transaction fraud risk management system, and including the world first self-lock security feature for credit limit management et cetera. Mr. Wei had assumed various senior regional and country positions with Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank in Hong Kong and Singapore before his position in China.

He was CEO of AP Fund Management Pte Ltd, a MAS CMS licensed entity in real estate investment across Asia Pacific region, Executive Director of Agility Partners Group of Companies, which is the real estate platform of PhillipCapital Group, Chief Operating Officer of ECG Property Services (TEHO International) and other senior positions in Colliers International, Chesterton International, Richard Ellis International, OCBC Bank etc.
